Heels & Souls
This is a great book with a wonderful story and
well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long
into the night. This was such a great read and full of
surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this
great author. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a
fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on
my personal review. Laura Collison
What a delightful and fun read!
There is nothing "slo" about this "Slo-vannah" ghostly tale.
Just when I thought the story was winding down, it took an
unexpected turn. I enjoyed that the author brings back the
charming and amusing characters from her previous books. I felt
as if I had encountered my old and endearing friends once again.
Pick it up and enjoy the ride. You'll be glad you did.
There is much
more to this story than just these basics. I felt that the book
started slow, but later, I realized that I would need all this
background information. I sincerely hope that this review
illustrates the element of fun that ran throughout the story. As
a children's book, I can recommend it, especially since there
was nothing crude or explicit, and there was no foul language.
things have happened on (and under) the streets of Savannah,
Georgia. Failed, Colonial botany experiments gone wrong couldn't
seem too far-fetched in our city's history. Especially, if those
experiments affected our ghost population and turned them all
into ghost-zombies! JK Bovi takes us on a fun-filled romp
through Savannah in this youthful tale of zombie apocalypse
action! Young readers will enjoy the humor and the downright
craziness in Zombies Y'all!"

I liked this
book. I'm a sucker for originality, and boy was it unique. The
writing was good, the characters were interesting. This was a
little more childlike than I expected. Heavy on humor, light on
horror. Would recommend. Kids could easily share this with
The scenes in the book came to life with each word I read and
the characters from the student on the top floor and her
friends, the policeman, the tourists and the Savannah Strangler
were all easily pictured especially the cold dead fingers trying
to strangle Victorian prostitutes, which of course no longer
existed. The hilarity continues right to the end of the book.
Certainly a good read as far as I’m concerned, and very
Dead Man’s Fingers by JK Bovi is an entertaining read. It
is indeed a ghost story but unlike any I have ever read. Set in
Savannah, the author throws in lots of the area’s folk lore and
culture which I find charming. It is a quick, easy read and full
of quirky characters and plot twists. If you like Christopher
Moore’s books, you will enjoy this one. - LibraryThing -
